Westerlo is close to signing Issiaka Kamate, a talented midfielder from Inter Milan. According to transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, the Belgian first-division club is in advanced talks with Inter to sign Kamate. The deal would see Westerlo rent Kamate, but also include an option to buy. Inter would also include a buyback clause in the deal, allowing them to re-sign Kamate if he develops well in Belgium. For Westerlo, this would be a relatively low-risk investment with the potential to develop a player with significant market value. Kamate is a French midfielder of Ivorian descent, born on July 2, 2004. The 21-year-old has been known for several years as one of the interesting talents in Inter's youth academy. He plays primarily as an attacking midfielder, but can also play on the flank. His technical qualities, dribbling skills, and creativity make him a profile that fits well with the attacking football that Westerlo has often tried to play in recent seasons. During the 2024-2025 season, Kamate was loaned to Italian club Modena, where he gained experience in professional football. At that time, Anderlecht also wanted to sign him, but that did not work out. Inter would re-sign Kamate if he develops well in Belgium.
