KVC Westerlo welcomes people with dementia and their caregivers for a special afternoon of football stories and memories. The initiative aims to bring participants together around their passion for football. During the gathering, memories are shared about KVC Westerlo, but also about Belgian football in general. Football often proves to be a powerful tool to start conversations and bring memories back to life. The activity is specifically aimed at people from Mol with dementia who have a warm bond with football. Football often proves to be a powerful tool to start conversations and bring memories back to life. To make participation as accessible as possible, the municipality of Mol provides transportation to Westerlo. The participants depart at 12:45 PM from the entrance of the local service center Ten Hove at Jakob Smitslaan. The end of the activity is scheduled for 4 PM. A contribution of five euros is requested for the transportation. This is paid directly when boarding the bus. Football Memories is a project that stimulates people with dementia to engage in conversations through shared football experiences. Photos, stories, and memories of matches, players, and clubs form the red thread. For caregivers, the activity also offers a valuable moment of meeting and connection in a relaxed environment. Registration is mandatory and can be done until Wednesday, June 17, via the activities module of the municipality of Mol. In addition, interested parties can also register at the counter of Ten Hove or by phone at 014 27 24 15. With Football Memories, Alzheimer Liga Vlaanderen and the municipality of Mol show how sport not only connects on the field, but also plays an important role in the well-being and quality of life of people with dementia.
